Meet the Founder Partner of I Love Barnsley - Carlton Brick

Carlton Brick is an independent Yorkshire clay brick factory based in Grimethorpe and is proud to be celebrating its 125th birthday this year

Oliver Stephenson, chairman of Carlton Brick (left of picture), said: "Without grant funding and charitable assistance, many vital local voluntary groups would not have a chance of surviving.

"By getting involved with the I Love Barnsley campaign, we are looking forward to helping small community projects throughout the area.

"It is important that businesses should take a role in their community and I would hope that many other local companies will be encouraged to join this initiative."

Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce are also on board...

Andrew Denniff, executive director of Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce (right of picture), said: "We aim to act innovatively and professionally in developing business partnerships that bring benefits to the locality and its people.

"Barnsley is a wonderful town full of community focused organisations and people who have a commitment to putting something back into the area.

"This new campaign will give businesses throughout Barnsley the opportunity to demonstrate their love for the area by helping communities tackle important local issues."

Helping you to think innovatively to show your love for Barnsley

SYCF are perfectly placed to link businesses to vital community projects needing help in South Yorkshire.

We will help businesses think innovatively about how they can provide assistance to communities in need in addition to financial support.

This might typically include volunteers to assist with a community project, providing spare meeting places for groups or pro bono work.

See our inspiring case study about how volunteers from accountancy firm Grant Thornton helped revitalise a community greenspace.

How to get involved?

For an annual donation of £1,000 (or £84 a month) your business can become an Official Partner of the 'I Love Barnsley' campaign, working with SYCF to make a real tangible difference to lives of unsung heroes in local communities.

Half of this donation will be used for immediate grant making in Barnsley, half will be used to support the ongoing charitable work of SYCF in Barnsley and to help us to connect your organisation to community and voluntary projects.

E-mail ilove@sycf.org.uk to register your interest with full contact details and a member of the SYCF team will be in touch to discuss how you can show your love for your area through the 'I Love Barnsley' campaign.
