Many people have been impacted by the increase in the cost of living, whether that’s through their energy bills or groceries in the shopping aisles.
That’s why South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation are setting up a fund to give financial support to community groups working with residents in the city to help reduce food and fuel poverty. Sheffield City Council (SCC) is making a donation of £20,000 to kick start this Cost of Living Fund. The Fund will be launched soon with further details on how community groups can apply.
In addition, there is an opportunity for people who may wish to play their part by making a contribution to the Cost of Living Fund by donating their £150 Council Tax rebate, or as a donor with an individual donation to assist people in Sheffield who will be feeling a severe strain on the finances.
A Just Giving page is available for people who may wish to donate money. The page will close for donations on Wednesday 31st August. On Thursday 1st September, we’ll be re-opening the Just Giving Page allowing Council Tax rebates or donations to come in to help support people across South Yorkshire with funds distributed to community groups.
