Trustee Week Feature: John Holt DL

It’s Trustees Week and we are spending the whole week shining a light on the fantastic trustees at South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation.

On this last day of Trustees Week our final feature is on Doncaster local, John Holt. John joined SYCF as a trustee in May 2016 and brought his passion for local community and extensive experience in business and charity work with him to the board.

Serving as Vice Lord-Lieutenant since 2016 and previously as High Sheriff of South Yorkshire, John’s background is as an insurance lawyer specialising in catastrophic injury, trusteeship and alternative dispute resolution.

John’s volunteering doesn’t stop with SYCF either. John has previously served as Chair of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice and is the current Chair of CrimeStoppers South Yorkshire. He is also generously gives his time as a member of the South Yorkshire Muslim Community Forum, to the Management Team of Sheffield Sea Cadets and as President of 103 Squadron Air Cadet Corps.

Trustee’s are essential to the running of charities and help to make the UK the sixth most giving place in the world!
