Introducing our patrons

Richard Caborn

A lifelong champion of Sheffield and South Yorkshire, Richard Caborn served as MP for Sheffield Central and as the UK’s Minister for Sport. Throughout his career he has been a passionate advocate for community development, regeneration and creating opportunities for local people and was the driving force behind the development of Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park which holds a fund with SYCF.

Martin McKervey

Martin McKervey is a Non-Executive Director with AESSEAL, Chair of Jobs Foundation Yorkshire and, holds a number of other NED and Trustee roles across the charity, voluntary and business sectors. Martin is a passionate advocate for business-led social and community impact. Through his role as the Rotherham representative for our South Yorkshire’s Giving Network, he has helped encourage businesses and philanthropists to invest in local people and places.

Julie MacDonald DL

Julie MacDonald is a dedicated advocate for South Yorkshire’s voluntary and community sector, with a passion for supporting children, young people and families. She is a former trustee and vice chair of South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation and, alongside husband Neil, has supported many grassroots organisations through their long-standing endowment fund.

Neil MacDonald

Neil MacDonald OBE is a chartered accountant, experienced business leader and independent trustee of UK Community Foundations, where he serves as Treasurer and Chair of the Finance, Audit and Operations Committee. A longstanding supporter of South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation, Neil, and wife Julie, have championed local philanthropy through their endowment fund.

Jane Pedder

Jane Pedder has dedicated many years to volunteering locally, supporting children, young people and vulnerable members of the community. Her voluntary work has included leading Beaver Scouts, guiding school groups around Sheffield's Whirlow Hall Farm and helping deliver art therapy sessions at St Luke’s Hospice.

Tony Pedder

Tony Pedder OBE DL has enjoyed a distinguished career in industry, healthcare and public service, including leadership roles with Sheffield Forgemasters and South Yorkshire Charity Mentors. A longstanding supporter of the voluntary sector, he has devoted many years to strengthening communities and supporting charitable organisations across the region.

Jill White

Jill White is a well-known connector, mentor and advocate for businesses and entrepreneurs across South Yorkshire. Passionate about supporting people and building strong networks, she has dedicated much of her career to helping individuals, organisations and communities thrive through collaboration and shared success.

Andy Hanselman

Andy Hanselman is a respected business adviser, speaker and champion of South Yorkshire’s business community. Through decades of supporting organisations, entrepreneurs and community initiatives, he has consistently promoted collaboration, social responsibility and the importance of giving back to local communities.
