Community Foundation appoints new deputy CEO
Michelle Dickinson has been appointed as the new deputy CEO of South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation (SYCF).
Michelle, who has worked at the Community Foundation since 2019, has also taken on the title of Head of Partnerships and Programmes.
She was previously Head of Philanthropy and Programmes for SYCF - South Yorkshire’s largest grant giving charity.
Since 1986, the Community Foundation has awarded more than £40 million to thousands of voluntary and community organisations across Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield.
During her time at SYCF, Michelle has played a pivotal role in delivering major funding initiatives. She managed the South Yorkshire flood appeals in 2019 and 2023, helping to raise more than £1.5 million for affected residents and community groups.
She also led efforts to secure £1 million in donations during the cost-of-living crisis and is currently supporting the Foundation’s 40th anniversary celebrations.
In her new role, Michelle will continue to develop strategic partnerships that connect generous donors with local community needs, helping to build stronger, fairer and healthier communities across South Yorkshire.

Before joining SYCF, Michelle held positions at Virgin Trains East Coast and Business in the Community. She is also a trustee of High Green Development Trust which manages The Campus and is Chair of Friends of Charlton Brook.
