Remembering Pauline Grice

South Yorkshire Community Foundation (SYCF) is saddened to hear about the passing of our former Chief Executive Pauline Grice.

Pauline was Chief Executive for six years until 2013, during which time she received an MBE for her work running an appeal for the 2007 floods in South Yorkshire.

She helped grow the organisation’s endowment funds with the support of Government match funding schemes, merging with smaller charities and began relationships with donors who are still involved with the Foundation to this day.

Pauline was passionate, highly driven, effective and a team player. Her greatest achievement was her work around the 2007 floods. Quite rightly, she was awarded an MBE for her role and the most memorable tribute we received was an invitation from Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council to attend a special meeting of the Council at which a tribute to SYCF was read out.

Jonathan Hunt OBE, who was Chair of South Yorkshire Community Foundation during her tenure

We send our sincere condolences to her widower Chris, daughters Lisa and Heather and step-daughter Victoria.
