Barnsley YMCA has a strong legacy of supporting children from a variety of backgrounds throughout their lives. ‘Little Y’, an activities group for children aged five to eight has continued due to funding from SYCF's Community Grants.

Abundance is a volunteer-run organisation which rescues, shares, cooks and processes fruit and vegetables which would otherwise go to waste from all across Sheffield. Funding contributed to the cost of skills training volunteers to lead harvesting events as well as community workshops

Ummeed Group

Beginning in September 2018, the Ummeed women’s reading group has become an invaluable asset to its members. With SYCF funding, they have been able to purchase appropriate reading books and cover the cost of a tutor and room hire costs.

The Association of Barnsley Foster Carers formed in 1975 with the aim of improving the life chances of children in care through stimulating and educational activities. Funding was used to organise activities for the children including a Christmas party and pantomime trip.

Woodland Speaks is a community based charity located in the Woodlands area of northern Doncaster. They required funding to run specific workshops and begin a therapeutic programme, both of which have been made possible since being provided with a grant by South Yorkshire's Community Foundation
