Breaking Beats has become a respected group looking out for young people across South Yorkshire. Funding for session workers and specialist artists led to fifteen sessions to restore and paint murals on the Boat House building in Askern.

In 2009, a group began that changed the lives of residents in Thurnscoe for the better. Funding from SYCF has allowed the DECV to continue helping members of its community to feel confident with their IT skills and more hopeful when applying for jobs.

Beginning in September 2018, the Ummeed women’s reading group has become an invaluable asset to its members. With SYCF funding, they have been able to purchase appropriate reading books and cover the cost of a tutor and room hire costs.

The Association of Barnsley Foster Carers formed in 1975 with the aim of improving the life chances of children in care through stimulating and educational activities. Funding was used to organise activities for the children including a Christmas party and pantomime trip.
