Duo join South Yorkshire’s Giving Network
South Yorkshire’s Giving Network (SYGN) has welcomed two new organisations committed to strengthening communities across the region.
Exagen and the Gripple Foundation are the latest to join the social value network, which has been developed by South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation (SYCF).
Leading renewable energy developer Exagen delivers large-scale solar and battery storage projects supporting the UK’s transition to clean power while investing in local community benefit initiatives.
The company’s involvement with SYGN reflects a commitment to ensuring the regions hosting renewable infrastructure also share in its long-term social value.
The Gripple Foundation is the charitable arm of Gripple - the award-winning employee-owned manufacturing business based in Sheffield which is internationally recognised for its innovative wire joining and tensioning solutions.
The company has a long-standing reputation as a champion of responsible business and community investment in South Yorkshire.
Natalie Rusling, chair of the Gripple Foundation, said:
South Yorkshire’s Giving Network is a natural fit for Gripple. As an employee-owned business rooted in Sheffield, we believe success should be shared and the SYGN offers a powerful way to work with other like-minded organisations to support grassroots groups making a real difference locally.
SYGN supports organisations to maximise social value by embedding giving and social impact into the core business purpose. Networkers gain access to frameworks and tools to track social value and demonstrate accountability. Through SYGN, organisation stay informed about local needs and build connections with community partners.
Michelle Dickinson, head of philanthropy and programmes at South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation, said:
We’re proud to welcome Exagen and the Gripple Foundation to South Yorkshire’s Giving Network. Both organisations bring a different perspective, but they share a common commitment to creating opportunities and tackling inequality across our region. Their involvement strengthens our ability to connect businesses with the communities that need support most.
SYGN delivers a series of events for businesses interested in growing their social value impact, measuring contribution to their local communities and learning from some of the region's exemplar organisations on how to maximise positive social impact as a successful business.
