South Yorkshire Community Celebration awards open for nominations
Nominations are now open for a special awards ceremony recognising the outstanding work of voluntary and community groups across South Yorkshire.
The Community Celebration Awards will honour exceptional community impact in each of the region’s four areas – Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield.
Organised by South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation (SYCF) as part of its 40th anniversary celebrations, the awards shine a spotlight on the groups which have been funded by SYCF that are making a meaningful difference in local communities.
Founded in 1986 with a mission to connect local giving with local need, SYCF has since invested more than £40 million into community initiatives across the region.
Martin Singer, Chief Executive of SYCF, said:
Our Community Celebration Awards are a wonderful way to honour and recognise groups we have supported who work tirelessly to serve communities in South Yorkshire and make a lasting local impact.
From initiatives tackling disadvantage to projects encouraging young people into employment, we have funded thousands of local groups over the last four decades.
These awards are an opportunity to celebrate the incredible efforts of community organisations who use our grants to respond to local needs and create long-term change to better South Yorkshire.
The awards are open to any voluntary or community not-for-profit organisation based in South Yorkshire that has received SYCF funding and is making a positive difference in the region.
One winner will be selected from each area, highlighting the inspiring change taking place in every corner of South Yorkshire.
Shortlisted groups will be invited to a special celebration event in May 2026.
The deadline for entries is 28 February 2026.
