A new and improved grants management system is being introduced by South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation (SYCF) to make it easier and more efficient for individuals and organisations to apply for funding.

The upgraded Salesforce platform will offer a more streamlined and user-friendly experience for community groups, simplifying the grants process - from application and communication to award and follow-up.

Key benefits of the new system for applicants include:

  • Easy access for everyone

Fill in forms on your phone, laptop or desktop - no matter what kind of device you use.
Works across all major systems like Android, iOS, Windows and Mac.
    Designed to meet accessibility standards.

  • Simple and centralised Portal

One online space to apply for grants, upload important documents, re-upload things like bank statements if asked and no need to send the same paperwork again if you've already sent it in the last 12 months.

  • Better Communication

A smarter system that helps you get messages directly from the grants team.
All emails and messages are saved in one easy-to-find place.
Keeps you updated with the latest information, so you don’t miss anything important.

Jess O’Neill, Grants and Programmes Manager for SYCF, said:

We’re committed to supporting our applicants and grantees with tools which remove barriers and improve access to our funding.

This new system is part of our ongoing effort to continually improve our grant-making and ensure that funding reaches those who need it the most, quickly and easily.

The updated grants management system, being introduced this summer, reflects SYCF’s commitment to innovation, accountability and community impact.

Jess added:

We appreciate, as with any change, there may be short-term challenges as groups familiarise themselves with the new system and we thank you for your patience and continued partnership.

In the longer-term, the introduction of this platform is all about making the grants process easier and more transparent.

With simplified online application forms, faster communication, improved accessibility and greater transparency throughout the process, we’re ensuring a more user-friendly experience for everyone involved.

Ahead of the introduction of the new system, SYCF will be sharing training resources to support individuals and organisations, as well as delivering an informative webinar.

We will also be featuring downloadable application guides, FAQs and video tutorials on our website.
