Professor Dame Hilary A Chapman DBE RN, H.M. Lord-Lieutenant of South Yorkshire

President

Dame Hilary is a Registered Nurse. She is an Honorary Professor at Sheffield Hallam University, an Honorary Doctor of Medicine at Sheffield University and a Fellow of the Royal College of Nursing. On the 75th birthday of the NHS, she was recognised as one of 75 nurses who has made a significant impact in the NHS.

Chris has been committed to public service throughout her working life. She has had a long career working in local government, higher education and the voluntary sector across South Yorkshire. She remains an Emeritus Professor of Sheffield Hallam University. She was previously the Chair of Sheffield Mencap and Gateway.

Vice-President

Jonathan is a former Chairman of SYCF’s Trustee Board, a position he held for ten years until 2014. He’s a former Senior Partner at Wake Smith Solicitors in Sheffield and served as High Sheriff of South Yorkshire in 2007-8.

Lady Anne Neill’s charitable activities include a role as President of St Luke’s Hospice, which she has held since 2000. In 1999, she was appointed as a Deputy Lieutenant of South Yorkshire and was a Trustee at Cavendish Cancer Care for eleven years.

Julie is a previous High Sheriff of South Yorkshire (2016-2017) and Mistress Cutler (2012-2013). Alongside her vice-chair role at SYCF, she is a Lead Volunteer for the Girlguiding UK National Archive Project and a trustee of The Sheffield Town Trust and of Roundabout Ltd.

Alex was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Sheffield Hallam University in November 2011 for services to charity and education in Yorkshire and Humber, having previously worked as its Director of Estate and Facilities. He is also a former Chairman of Sheffield Industrial Museums Trust and Deputy Chairman of Sheffield City Trust.

David Moody CVO

Beginning in the Sheffield steel industry in 1963, David went on to hold senior positions in the sector including chairman and managing director at Spartan Sheffield. He had a spell as H.M. Lord Lieutenant of South Yorkshire from 2003 to 2015, which was followed by a honorary doctorate by Sheffield Hallam University in 2016.

A former H.M. Lord-Lieutenant of South Yorkshire (2015-2021), Andrew is a retired chartered accountant and lawyer who has also served in the Territorial Army. He has a broad portfolio of charitable work, as a trustee to St Luke’s Hospice, Broomgrove Nursing Home, the Bluecoat Educational Trust and the Freshgate Foundation.
